Often referred to as “Wisconsin’s Stonehenge”, Kinstone is a modern megalithic sculpture garden in rural Fountain City showcasing huge stone sculptures created by Wisconsin local, Kristine Beck. A visit to this 15-acre contemplative, park-like place leaves you feeling as if you have visited an older world in a different time. Kinstone is home to what may be the largest privately owned stone circle in the world! Founded in 2011, Kinstone offers visitors a place to enjoy the outdoors while being inspired and awed by the wonders of nature and land-art on a huge scale. While most visitors enjoy Kinstone in a self-guided manner, we also offer guided tours when arranged in advance.

This stunning bluff-top property has over 180 intentionally placed boulders and standing stones including three stone circles, megalithic dolmen with a 13-ton capstone, classic 7-circuit labyrinth, and dry-stack stone sculpture. See the unique thatched, cordwood Chapel of Creation, Dragon’s Keep kiosk, and other natural buildings, acres of prairie and more. Kinstone is a pollinator’s paradise. As in ancient times, these modern stone structures were built with seasonal alignments seen only at Solstices and Equinoxes. Visitors wander the mown grass paths reading signage at each feature and taking in the serenity and beauty. Many also come to walk the labyrinth or the Way of the Stones pilgrimage, attend outdoor concerts, drum circles, workshops, meditation, yoga, celebration of seasons and more.

Expect to spend 2+ hours exploring the grounds on your own or arrange a private tour. Bring a water bottle, sunblock, sturdy shoes, dress for weather, be prepared to walk rough, sometimes steep terrain. Stop in our Kinstone Gift Shop to find Kinstone merchandise, photo cards, Kinstone-inspired art, and unique, one-of-a-kind gifts.

This private property is only open to the public on a published, seasonal schedule May through October; an admission fee is required for entry. Visit our website for current hours, admission fees, parking information, tour options, and what events are coming up.
