Merrick State Park Presents Bats of Wisconsin

The Merrick State Park’s Saturday night program this week will be “Bats of Wisconsin” held on July 25^th from 7: p.m.- 8:30p.m. in the Nature Center. Heather Mishefske is a Wisconsin Master Naturalist that provides outreach and education on bats as a Bat Ambassador across the state. There will be a Bat craft project at the beginning (so it can get a little darker before the program) and then Heather will begin her program.  You will learn how important our nocturnal neighbors are to the landscape here in Wisconsin and which species may be overhead at your own home. You will also learn what you can do at your own home to protect them and why they need protection. After the presentation everyone will venture out into the dark park to echolocate some bats in real time that live right here in Merrick State Park. Join us for the fascinating look at these tiny creatures of the night sky. All ages welcome.
